Story is followup to Chase015 where Brer Rabbit plays dead in the road.

There are obvious problems about classifying this story: there is what Fox wants to happen (entices owner from goods) compared to what actually takes place.

Baer comments "Since Pars and Dorson regard the immediate source of Chase015 as Africa, and since this tale is a continuation of Chase015, with Thompson citing an Ibo version, the immediate source here too is probably Africa."
