Motifs K1034 dupe persuaded to climb rope for food; rope breaks
Notes
Gerber classifies this as African based on African jackal story; Mofokeng has two versions in Bleek, plus another "in whihc jackal and his family are on top of a krantz, rather than a temple."
Baer: "Uncle Remus's tale is clearly a version of the African tales, particularly if Mofokeng is correct that the hot stone motif (here, boiling water) is unknown in Europe."
