1 . Brother Rabbit's Bear Hunt

Summary: Rabbit convinces Wolf and Fox to help him in hunting Bear. Then he goes to Bear and tells him Wolf and Fox are hunting him. Rabbit then pretends to be chasing Bear so that Bear can attack Fox and Wolf where they are waiting.

2 . Impty-umpty and the Blacksmith

Summary: Rabbit lets blacksmith know he'll have a visitor. The visitor turns out to be the Devil. The blacksmith manages to trap the Devil in a box, but Rabbit taunts him so that he lets the Devil out. When the blacksmith dies, the Devil won't let him in and tells him to make his own hell somewhere else instead.

3 . Taily-Po

Summary: Rabbit and man argue about the garden; Rabbit barely escapes the man's dogs. Rabbit wants revenge. He goes to Mammy-Bammy Big-Money who summons a supernatural creature. The creature goes to the man's house. The man pulls off the creature's tail. It wants its tail back. Eventually the creature gets its tail back and sets the house on fire.

4 . Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox, and King Lion

Summary: Lion is sick; he demands animals bring him food. Rabbit is his doctor. Fox does not come visit. Rabbit finds Fox with a duck and two pullets; he tells him Lion has summoned him. Fox leaves food at home, and then goes to court. Rabbit gets Mrs. Fox to give him food, and then he goes to court. Rabbit pretends to intervene with Lion on his behalf, and Fox is so glad he says Rabbit is welcome to food if he can get Mrs. Fox to part with it.

5 . Brer Rabbit and the Calico

Summary: Brer Rabbit tells Mrs. Fox that Lion sent her a calico, so she beats Mr. Fox. They realize he has tricked them, so they go hunting for Rabbit. Rabbit tells Lion only cure for his boil is fresh fox-hide, and that he should then send to the carcass to Mrs. Fox.

6 . The Most Beautiful Bird in the World

Summary: In beauty contest among the birds, with Brer Rabbit as judge, Miss Coo-Coo takes feathers from all birds; she wins, and flies away. All birds are saying her name even now and preening where they gave her feathers.
